Studio Sio completed the interior design renovation of Buffalo Lodge, a boutique accommodation property near Coromandel Town on the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand. The project involved reconfiguration of the layout for improved guest flow, redesign of all guest rooms and shared spaces, custom joinery, vintage furniture sourcing, and natural material specification throughout. Studio Sio also provided operations consultancy, advising on guest experience programming, service zones, and back-of-house functionality.

A mid-century lodge tucked into native bush near Coromandel — the brief was to rethink the guest experience without losing the soul of the original building. Custom joinery, carefully sourced vintage pieces, and natural textures throughout. The result is a hideaway that feels design-forward and deeply grounded in its landscape in equal measure.
