Lately at Studio Sio

The last month has been a slightly strange combination of normal studio life and suddenly seeing myself on television!

A personal fave was the church renovation episode - so many cool projects!

The reveal shoot days were the most fun - it normally takes around a year to see a finished project, these ones had the final sign-off and the champagne cracked in a mere few weeks!

My House My Castle is now properly out in the world, and I’ve loved seeing everyone’s messages, screenshots, and commentary as the episodes air. There’s a couple more episodes left this season, and you can watch them here in NZ if you’ve missed them. For those further abroad, a VPN should let you in!

It was a very different pace to our normal projects - much faster, much more reactive, and with far less time to overthink every material selection (probably good for me!).

At the same time, we’ve been continuing to build out the Studio Sio Home Collections boxes. Seeing people receive the boxes and start to use them after spending so long developing them has been really special. They were always intended to feel more like complete interior rooms than simple sample packs. If you’ve been thinking about grabbing one for your upcoming build, they are steadily running out the door - please grab one before this first batch is gone!

The Ponga Home Collections Box, based on the palette from the first My House My Castle episode - all you need to recreate the rooms pictured, with a box of sample materials, a how-to guide, and discount codes from our favourite vendors like Nodi, Ecodure flooring, Material Space, ABI Interiors, Woodwrights furniture, Aalto Paint, and more

We were also recently mentioned in the Listener, in a write up on the show (our builder mate Mike from Woodsmith Construction is not a designer however, luckily for him!)

As always, thank you for following along with Studio Sio - whether you’ve been here since the beginning or have found us recently through the show, the boxes, Instagram, or otherwise.

ngā mihi,

Shanta (Siochanta) Trusewich
