old rose restaurant interior design

Light-filled, low-key, and just the right amount of downtown.

Housed in the historic Hotel Jane—where survivors of the Titanic once stayed—Old Rose is part all-day café, part neighborhood standby, and part Italian-by-way-of-New-York hangout. The interiors reflect the building’s layered past: arched windows, checkered floors, and patinated walls that hold more stories than they let on. A small gesture towards one of the most famous of Roses—that of Titanic fame—is also referenced in the model ship above the bar.

We kept the design unfussy but intentional: vintage mirrors, natural wood, soft lighting, and a layout that shifts easily from early coffee to late cocktails. The space doesn’t try too hard—it doesn’t need to.

Old Rose is casual, yes; but it’s also grounded, atmospheric, and quietly iconic. The kind of place that feels like it’s always been there (because, in a way, it has).
