Legendary, lived-in, and finally—livable.
I spent five years as the lead designer on the full renovation of New York’s Hotel Chelsea — a dream project. The goal: bring a crumbling icon back to life without stripping it of its charm (or its attitude). That meant keeping the grit where it mattered, elevating what needed elevating, and sweating every detail—from a different layout in all 200 rooms, working with SHPO on preserving it’s cultural legacy, designing full bespoke furniture fit-outs, to hand-preserving the hotel’s extensive art catalog.
Working with BD Hotels and Sean MacPherson, I oversaw everything from concept to construction, collaborating with consultants, craftspeople, and the much-loved building itself. In 2024, the restored hotel was awarded a Michelin Key for excellence in hospitality—which felt like a well-deserved end to a wonderful story.
